  • Don’t use water from stagnant lines or contaminated sources.
  • Do add emulsion concentrate to water while stirring.
  • Don’t add water to product concentrate.
  • Do use a Refractometer to verify proper concentration.
  • Don’t check fluid strength by feel.

Operation of machine.

  • Do ensure correct coolant flow.
  • Don’t allow fluid to overheat; maintain full sump volume.
  • Do use all guards and spray covers properly.
  • Don’t allow operators to put their hands into the fluids unnecessarily.
  • Do ask operators to wash down their machines with the coolant at the end of their shifts.
  • Don’t allow operators to smoke, eat or drink next to machine.

Maintenance of fluid and coolant systems.

  • Do ensure regular monitoring of the fluids.
