Like every year Fourfront celebrated International women’s day very enthusiastically on Monday 8th March 2021. Fourfront acknowledges that women have always been strong contributors to the success of Fourfront and indeed this day deserves to be celebrated underscored with the fact that the value and contribution of women is not restricted only to this day but should be done everyday.
This year, we celebrated the Day a little differently, in a more special way. We thought that the flavour of our celebration and gratitude to women should be extended even to the family of our employees. Considering the pandemic situation, we restricted the number of guests. We invited few special guests for the event, Mrs. Shobha Uke (mother-in-law of Mrs. Priyanka Uke), Mrs. Sangita Budhe (mother of Mr. Swapnil Budhe), Smt. Mandakini Panchvishe and Ms. Aditi Kanade (mother and daughter of Mrs. Ashwini Kanade), Ms. Kaveri & Sanjana Malagi (daughters of Mr. K.L Malagi). This really brought in a special feeling for all as it made the celebration complete in the real sense where we saw all the roles (relations) a woman encompasses on the same platform.
The event was co-ordinated and hosted by Mrs. Sarala Chaudhari (Production Manager) and Mrs. Monika Masutage (Executive HR). They opened up the event with Monika giving out the history of why this day is celebrated, while Sarala emphasized on the fact that women should not remain as idols worshipped in temples but should be recognized for all the multi-tasking they do. She also emphasized that when a man is educated, it is only a man that is educated, whereas when a woman is educated, a generation is educated. Mrs. Anagha Kalay (Director) also narrated a short story on how an 11 year old girl, in her own positive way, raised her voice against gender discrimination and brought about a change in the perspective of a male dominated society.
All the employees were fervently present for the event. Ashwini, Tejaswini Pote, Hemlata, Sapna Jamadar, Sulbha Patil, Priyanka Khadase, Vanita & Karishma expressed their views and presented some beautiful poems on the occasion. Some of the male employees i.e. Vijay, Swapnil, Vikram, Prashant also expressed their gratitude for women as they spoke about the impact women have had in their lives – be it their mother, grandmother, wife or sisters. A special mention for Mr. Ranasing (Security Supervisor), who also presented his poem on how women of today need to stand up and take charge of the situations. Mr. Ashish Kalay, Mr. Prabhakar Kerure, Mr. Rajesh Chavan, Mr. Malagi & Mr. Umesh Rajeshwarkar also conveyed their gratitude to all the women staff with a special mention on the importance of women in their own respective lives. Some of them also shared their personal experiences which was very warm to hear. One important point was stressed on how women should raise their voice against any kind of assault that they or their women friends may face. Mrs. Anagha Kalay closed the event with an important message that “Real Men Respect Women, while Real Women Support Women”.
The cake cutting was done at the hands of the guests and special gifts for improving the health of women were given to all the women staff. A small factory round was also conducted for the guests on this occasion.
