Mr. N. M. Pillai the founder member of the group started his career in 1966 working as a QA Engineer at Ruston & Hornsbey (I) Ltd. He started the unit (Pal & vat Enterprises) in September 1974 machining transmission component (Bull Shaft Bearing Cage) of Mahindra Tractor, Supplying up to 5000 Nos. per month.
In view of the growing need of various casting components in the automobile & tractor industry, He ventured for setting up a Cupola Furnace (Grey Cast Iron) & Machine Shop in 1980 with a capacity of manufacturing 100 tons per month of machined castings. In 1993 capacity expanded by adding Induction Furnace & machine shop was setup to supply up to 5000 Nos. finished Rear Axle Carriers per month using latest machines, which is supplied to Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Tractor division, Mumbai.
It was of paramount importance to speed up the activities and satisfy the customers in terms of cost , quality and delivery. M/s. Neeta Instruments worked in line to this and was given the recognitions as certified quality vendor in 1990. thought it timely to expand from 100 tons to 250 tons per month. Hence a new plant was commissioned in may 2001 to produce high quality castings using a total automated sand plant.

Green Practices
Just as important as our commitment to our clients is our commitment to the environment. We allow for very little waste and whenever possible, we recycle our sand without any compromise to the finished product. Although the majority of the metal we use is new and certified to national standards, we recycle all residual iron. At Pillai Group, we take green practices seriously.
