Pretreatment:
The basis of any good coating is surface preparation. The vast majority of powder coating failures can be traced to a lack of a suitable preparation. We employ a two-tier strategy: a dip line for parts that could be accommodated in one-by-seven-by-two meter tanks, and a recently developed spray pretreatment system, which is used for our regular production of sheet steel wall mounting enclosures. Powder Coating:
After pre-treatment the product is ready for an electrostatic, powder coated finish. Prior to powder application all required items are plugged or masked. Masking is generally used for threaded items, spindles, electronic equipment grounds, etc
SS Controls personnel have proper knowledge of powders and electrostatic techniques, and are trained to ensure that the correct amount of powder is applied evenly to the surface of the product with manual and automatic guns. Our modern curing plant includes an Electric heating type 40ft curing oven capable of handling anything up to 12m by 2m.Once the powder is applied, the product is heated in an oven to the correct temperature, for the required time, dependent on the mass and powder type
