Cast Steel Swing Check Valves
Product Overview
FAC Cast Steel Swing Check Valves are designed to close quickly and automatically with positive shut-off in either horizontal or vertical (flow up) pipe runs. Inherently, these valves have a low pressure drop and are best suitable for velocity applications, remaining closed with no flow when installed horizontally.

Body Design
The body is full ported and spherical in form. The design utilizes large radiuses which allow for the stresses, flow resistance and turbulence to be kept to a minimum. Bosses are provided for optional drains.
Body-Cover Joint
Standard joints are machined as follows:
- 150, 300, 600: Male-and-Female
- 900 & over: Ring Type Joint
- 600: Also available in Ring Type Joint.

Internal Components
Hinge Assembly
The hinge arm pivots on a hinge pin located near the disc’s center of gravity. Body penetration for the pin is sealed with a soft steel gasket and flanged plug. The arm includes an integral disc stop for the open position.
Disc
Precision ground seating surface mated to the seat ring. Secured to the hinge arm with a disc nut and pinned to prevent disengagement. Integral or overlaid seat facings available upon request.
Seat Ring
Forged or rolled in one piece, then seal welded and overlaid if required. Faces are machined, thoroughly cleaned, and inspected after heat treatment.

- Normal Service: ASTM A194 Gr 2H / ASTM A193 Gr B7
- High Temp Service: ASTM A194 Gr 4 / ASTM A193 Gr B16
- Stainless Steel Valves: ASTM A194 Gr 8 / ASTM A193 Gr B8
- FAC can supply any bolting as requested.
End Connections
- Flange Ends: RF, FF, or RTJ (ANSI B16.5)
- Butt-Welding Ends: BW (ANSI B16.25)
- Dimensions: Face-to-Face per ANSI B16.10
Accessories / Optional Designs
Counterweight features are available as an accessory. Tilting disc or hydrofoil designs are also available to meet customer requirements. Drains and bypasses are available as specified.
