Product Overview
FAC Cast Steel Globe Valves are designed primarily for control applications where throttling or both throttling and shut-off are required. Built with outside screw and yoke (OS&Y) designs and full ports, these valves offer heavy-duty conical plug type discs for reliable operation.

Application & Function
Globe valves are primarily used as control valves where throttling or both throttling and shut-off are required. They can also be used for on-off service, although pressure drop is inherent to the design.
Normal applications find the globe valve with flow and pressure under the disc. EMFLO cast steel globe valves are commonly made in OS&Y designs with full ports and heavy-duty, conical plug type discs.
Body & Bonnet
The body is full ported and spherical in form. The design utilizes large radii to keep stresses, flow resistance, and turbulence to a minimum. Valve bonnets are equipped with a backseat bushing.

Internal Components & Design
Disc
Normally supplied with conical plug type disc. Rotates freely on the stem with a differential angle for maximum shut-off assurance. Held by disc nut and split-ring retainer (2-4" Class 150/300) or button head design (larger sizes).
Seat Ring
- Class 150: 2"-8" Integral, 10"+ Seal Welded
- Class 300-900: 2"-6" Integral, 8"+ Seal Welded
- Class 1500 & >: 2"-4" Integral, 6"+ Seal Welded
Stem & Packing
Standard stems are rotating and rising (non-rotating available). Designed with integral backseat features for ultimate seal during packing changes.
Stem packing uses non-asbestos types designed to reduce fugitive emissions. Standard arrangement meets <100 ppm requirements.
Operation, Bolting & End Connections
Operation & Glands
Hammer-blow type handwheels are standard. The packing gland is a two-piece self-aligning type with a spherical head to ensure straight compression of packing without injuring the stem.
