Multiple of these Addressable Gas Detection Modules (AGDM) can be connected to a single touch screen Human Machine Interface (HMI) OR Main Control Panel (MCP) to enable the operator to configure the system and access the readings and all the alarm and fault annunciations. The gas sensors are typically of electrochemical, Pellistor, NDIR as the case may be for the particular detection and sensor is located at the site to be monitored. The HMI/MCP electronics is located in a safe area/instrumentation room. They are meant for continuous operation of area monitoring with continuous read out, plus vital status indicators. HMI has many advanced features as below. The MCP when opted for is economical and cost effective solution for small number of AGDMs.

RS-485 Modbus RTU communications between AGDM and MCP. Power supply for AGDM is generated in MCP. Single 4 core cable carries power and communications signal and is looped to all AGDMs.
