Jacketed Vessels / Tanks

A jacketed vessel is an essential piece of equipment used in various industries, particularly in chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, and food production. A jacketed vessel is designed to keep the temperature of materials inside it under control. By having a space between it and the outer shell that encloses it, heating or cooling fluid can circulate within the jacket, controlling the content’s temperature. This is important where processes necessitate strict temperature control, such as chemical reactions, distillation, and fermentation. The jackets may accommodate water, steam, or oil depending on the process thermal properties needed and the required temperature range.

Jacketed vessels come in varied configurations designed to suit particular operational needs. They are made from different materials, such as stainless steel or carbon steel, so they can match the substance they will hold and the condition under which they will operate safely. The jackets can also have diverse designs ranging from dimpled to half-pipe coil and full conventional jackets. They all come with varying heat transfer efficiencies, maintenance ease, and costs, among other benefits of each design.
