The Organization

M/s Supra Chemicals is a Proprietary Company owned by Mr.Vijay Mahajan - B.Sc. Tech (U.D.C.T.-1970) The proprietor is technocrat having vast experience in the technical field in Mfg. Dyestuff and intermediates and drugs and intermediates and has served various companies like I.D.I.Ltd , Kalyan , Colour Chem Ltd , Thane and has expertise in Pilot plant and Scale-up operations . Also worked as a consultant to Bombay Paints Ltd.

Major Activities

Supra is engaged in manufacturing and exports of bulk drug & drug intermediates like anti-diabetics & anti-hypertensives. Anti-diabetic drug, Glyclazide, is under R & D and shall be ready within 2 months. Reactions Handled in our Plant :

• Chlorosulfonation
• Esterification
• Condensation
• Amidation
• Isomer separations

We also undertake job works of the above processes.
"Supra" started their business in 1981 in a very small way making Vitamin B2 5- Phosphate Sodium B.P. and Chloroamphenicol I.P. Then later Theophyline I.P. ,Etophylline B.P. were introduced substituting Chloroamphenicol I.P.
The Mefanamic acid B.P.was introduced first time in India by “ Supra “ in 1983 . In that period Supra was known for quality of Vitamin B2 5- Phosphate and Mefanamic acid .Supra was also making Glipizide and Dicyclomine hydrochloride with buy back guarantee during 1986-88 .From 1988 , the plant was dedicated to Mefanamic acid , which had a good turn over till 1996 . Then the manufacturing line shifted into making intermediates and settled to Sulfonamides.

Infrastructure

The Manufacturing facility has got a total area of 40,00sq.ft and has well equipped QA/QC laboratory. The facility has the capacity to develop and execute a range of chemical processes. It also has a facility for In-house testing (Gas Chromatography & HPLC).
Effluent Treatment Facility - Supra is a member of The Common Effluent Treatment Plant at T.T.C.
Supra has a sizable neutralization cum aeration tank.(2000 lit.cap) and settling tank (1500 lit cap) Per day we can process about 9000 lit. effluents which is more than the standard consumption of water these days.
To take care of acidic/toxic gases we have efficient two Nos. wash towers which take care of the emissions during the reaction. Our boiler works on H.S.Diesel and is smoke free.

Quality Management System & Policy

The quality policy of “SUPRA CHEMICALS” is to produce Bulk Drugs and Intermediates of supreme (Supra – The Best) quality. The efforts are made to produce products of better than the best quality. This is a continuous process of up-gradation of technology & improving the in-house quality standards.
While making efforts on this aspects we neither ignore the safety of men working in the organization nor the conservation of the Environment. The organization is committed to give importance to the proper system, discipline and documentation of procedures and records.
The quality system of the organization is that every individual must know his responsibility to follow the laid down procedures in a very disciplined manner and make proper documentation. The essence of the system is the total control of the quality assurance function on approval of the raw materials, intermediates and the finished products, through the approved specifications and procedures, with authority to reject any material not conforming to the quality standards. The quality system also does not allow any change or deviation from the laid down procedure unless validated through a series of events like suggestion, discussion, approval by formal decision or on collected data.
